Guide | Trapper
I’m a 41 yr old avid outdoorsman who’s spent my entire life hunting fishing and hiking the mountains of North Idaho around the Sandpoint Area. I work as a Hunting Guide for Clark Fork Outfitters and I am the Mission Advancement Director of the Foundation for Wildlife Management. I have 2 daughters both in their early 20’s and a son who is a freshman in high-school. I’ve been very active in Wildlife Conservation, and one of my favorite slogans is “Leave it better than you found it.” I’ve served as the Selkirk Chapter Chairman for the Mule Deer Foundation, and was the Founder of the Idaho Big Game Foundation where we hosted fundraisers in an attempt to fund wildlife projects such as controlled burns, a wildlife overpass that never came to fruition, and a study on North Idaho Mule Deer in hopes of changing the way they were currently managed (our mule deer are managed no different than whitetails despite their vastly different needs and predation issues). We closed the Idaho Big Game Foundation and rolled all assets into the Foundation for Wildlife Management when it became obvious that Wolves are Idaho Wildlife’s greatest detriment. For each of the 15 Wolves I’ve harvested, I have invested 280 hours and $1,600 in fuel scouting for them, and running my trap line. When I’m not in the mountains or working to expand the F4WM program, I enjoy supporting my son’s football, wrestling, and lacrosse. I also breed & raise Chocolate Labs for antler shed hunting, which I used to do much more of prior to all the time I’ve dedicated to Wolf Trapping. And I occasionally make time to fish for Steelhead, Salmon, Lake trout, or Bass.
